    How the 2026 cutoff works

UPSC publishes category-wise Prelims cutoffs after the examination cycle is complete.

General Studies Paper II is qualifying; the Prelims merit cutoff is based on General Studies Paper I subject to qualification in Paper II.

Cutoffs are historical results, not safe-score guarantees for a future paper.

MockPrep does not publish an unsupported single ‘safe score’. Use the official result or counselling notice linked above for released 2026 figures.

    Source and interpretation note

Vacancies, dates, age reckoning and relaxations must be verified in the current UPSC notice.

Official authority: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Last verified: 23 September 2026.
